What a Crosshair X code is

Crosshair X is a third-party overlay app on Steam. It draws a crosshair on top of whatever game you are running, including games that ship no crosshair of their own. It has its own share code system: a design built in the app's designer can be encoded into a code, and pasting that code into another copy of the app rebuilds the design.

That is worth being clear about, because the phrase "crosshair code" means four different things depending on the game. A Valorant code is a semicolon-separated settings string the game itself reads. A CS2 crosshair is a set of cl_crosshair console commands or a CSGO- share code. A Roblox crosshair is a numeric decal ID. A Crosshair X code is none of those — it only means something inside Crosshair X.

We do not publish Crosshair X share codes. The format belongs to the app, the codes come from its own designer and community gallery, and a code copied from a page that made it up would simply fail to import. What this site can give you is the design — the shape, colour and size — and a PNG you can load into any overlay, including Crosshair X.

Where to find Crosshair X designs

1. Open Crosshair X and browse the built-in community gallery — this is where the great majority of shared designs actually live, and you can apply one without handling a code at all.
2. To share one you have made, open it in the designer and export the share code from there.
3. To use someone else's code, paste it into the app's import field. If the app reports that a design cannot be encoded, that design uses layers the code format cannot carry — the export will offer an image instead.

Use a custom PNG crosshair instead

Every overlay app, Crosshair X included, can display a custom image. That path sidesteps codes entirely and works the same in any of them, so it is the more portable option.

1. Open the crosshair overlay generator and design your crosshair — shape, colour, thickness, gap, outline.
2. Export it as a PNG. 256px suits most setups; 512px is better on a 1440p or 4K display.
3. In your overlay app, add the PNG as a custom image crosshair.
4. Set the game to Windowed Fullscreen or Borderless — overlays cannot draw over exclusive fullscreen.

Do you actually need an overlay app?

Only for games with no crosshair settings of their own. If you play any of these, the game already does it and an overlay adds nothing:

Fortnite is the common case where an overlay is the only option, which is why the generator on this site exports images rather than codes. Crosshair X is paid; free overlay software exists as well, and any of it can display the same PNG.
